Unlimited Kickboxing (inside of Milpitas Health and Fitness Center) in Milpitas, Ca is hosting another Open Mat Submission Challange. This event is a no gi submission style event, not full contact MMA. Event will be held August 30, 2008. Registration to compete is $20 before the event, $30 if you wait until the day of. Spectators are welcome with a $5 entry fee. Weigh-ins are held from 10:30am-NOON, event starts at 1:00pm. The event is ran round robin style so if you register to compete, you will get multiple matches. I have attended this event before and got five matches all within about one and a half hours (at 205lb no less). This was due to the round robin format but also, once a competitor is submitted, the match restarts from standing until the full match time limit has expired, so don’t be afraid if this is your first event. you will get PLENTY of mat time. Once again, this is a FANTASTIC event, Rudi Ott’s gym is so nice, it was used in a Swain Mats add ( you may recognize from your favorite MMA magazine)
